Yuckiness

Well it has been a horrid day. Dry heaves all morning. Stayed home from work and was miserable.

Felt better this afternoon some and worked on the checkbook and looked for cabins in Gatlinburg for this weekend (provided I'm not heaving then). Tomorrow is our third anniversary and I'd really like to feel okay for this. Anyone know if you can make a jacuzzi or hot tub have only slightly warm water? Can't sit in it like regular 'cause of the baby.

The Nashville Symphony is performing tonight on the lawn of Cumberland University for $5 a person. I really don't want to go but I'm hoping it will be relaxing once I get there. We'll see. I've been cooped up all day and miserable with NO ONE to talk to. Becky was online but I didn't feel like talking online for some reason. Weird. I'm just weird today.

  • Here comes the "Shoot down Dr's girl!" LOL!!! I always got in a nicely heated hot tub. You aren't going to cook your baby. The problem lies in getting over heated. If you start to feel HOT then you should get out. Same with a fever.. over 102 is dangerous. But 5-10 minutes is okay. ESPECIALLY as early along as you are... the baby is too deep down in your pelvic bone area to be affected.

I wish I knew a fix for sickness. The first 3 months are the worst. After that if you are sick it is usually stress. :/ Sad, but true. I was only sick the entire time if I was worried or stressing. 1st trimester is yucky though. Brisk walks help but they are terrible to motivate yourself to do. Also... if you will keep your tummy full.. I know that is hard with puking, but eat right after you puke, you should be able to hold it down. I had a whole routine. I would nibble until I puked then I felt better and pigged out! LOL! If you keep your belly full it is easier. Find what your "trick" food is. Spicy Mexican ALWAYS worked for me. :) *just trying to help*

  • Baths are unsafe and unsanitary during pregnancy. Untrue. There is no evidence that bath water can cause infection. In fact, warm baths can be a great way to ease stress and relax. However it is important not to become overheated in a hot tub, very hot bath or sauna. During pregnancy your core body temperature should not rise above 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 10 minutes.

I got this from a website. The link is too long to fit here. :/ I had a suggestion though. Take a digital Thermometer (sp) and check your temp to make sure you are staying under 102.2!! :) Enjoy!

  • BTW ... The hot tub thingy will be a-ok. Ditto what Wemmies said.
The hot water tub thing being bad is an old wives tale.
Not that I'm an old wife or anything ;-)

  • mom said that keeping plain saltines by your bed and eating a few right after you wake up-dont even lift up before you eat a few-should help with morning sickness. i know dry saltines help when my stomach is upset. Jaci
